Abstract

Stroke is the leading cause of severe disability in the United States. Many individuals with stroke do not recover complete upper limb function at time of discharge from clinical services, moreover, improvements in early stage recovery may wane with time after therapy has ceased. While movement therapies have been shown to be effective in chronic stages of stroke, few individuals receive any type of therapeutic intervention one year post stroke. Telerehabilitation provides a convenient treatment option for rehabilitation in chronic stages of recovery to maintain and more importantly gain functional mobility.
