Abstract

Objective: To test the hypothesis that improving sleep is an effective initial step in treating the complex problems associated with blast-induced traumatic brain injury (TBI) among veterans of Operations Iraqi or Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF). Design: Longitudinal case study. Setting: Outpatient clinic. Participants: Eighty OIF/OEF veterans with mild TBI caused by an explosion during deployment who had residual deficits on neurologic examination, neuropsychologic testing or both (see JRRD 45:941-953, 2008).
