Abstract

Setting: Outpatient interventional PM&R spinal medicine clinic. Patient: A 51-year-old woman with L3-4 facet cyst causing foraminal and paracentral stenosis, back pain, and radicular leg symptoms. Case Description: The patient presented with back and leg pain with lumbar magnetic resonance imaging findings of a 12×12×8mm facet cyst exerting mass effect on the traversing left L4 nerve root. She had no focal neurologic deficits on physical examination. A left L3-4 transforaminal epidural steroid injection provided 3 weeks of relief.
