Abstract

Setting: Acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Patients: A 42-year-old woman with acute thoracic myelopathy from a T11/T12 herniated thoracic disk. Case Description: The patient presented with acute onset of weakness and numbness in the legs and torso following bending down. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed thoracic disk herniation with cord compression. Deficits were seen in both lower limbs, with barely antigravity strength of the right lower limb. Bowel and bladder function were intact at that time.
