Abstract

Setting: Tertiary care hospital and university spine clinic. Patient: A 51-year-old man with an 8-year history of chronic axial neck pain with underlying cervical spondylosis, refractory to medications and physical therapy. Case Description: Following left sided C3-C4, C4-C5, C5-C6 intraarticular facet joint injections with dexamethasone and lidocaine with conscious sedation, the patient immediately developed numbness, paresthesias, and loss of coordination involving the left side of his body. He had no motor deficits and was discharged home.
