Abstract
Biodegradable osteosynthesis materials are used for the mandibular and midfacial area. Yet, the plates have to be designed thicker than titanium to achieve a sufficient stability. The 1.4 mm Inion Free Form Plate was designed with the intention to achieve the same mechanical stabilities than the 2.0 mm conventional plates. The aim of the study was to evaluate the mechanical pullout strength of the 1.4 mm Free Form Plate compared to the 2.0 mm conventional plate.
