Abstract
Objective: To identify and summarize evidence from published reports of randomized controlled trials examining the impact of nonpharmacologic care and support interventions on the development of poststroke depression. Data Sources: PubMed, Web of Science, CINAHL, and Embase. Study Selection: Studies were included if (1) depression was a study outcome and (2) assessment of depression was performed using a tool designed for this purpose. Data Extraction: Time since stroke, whether patients with depression were excluded or identified at baseline, timing and method for depression assessments, intervention description, and study results pertaining to the outcome of depression.
