Abstract
Objective: To demonstrate that electric twitch obtaining intramuscular stimulation (ETOIMS) is safe and efficacious in chronic neck pain treatment. Design: ETOIMS was applied using a handheld custom device that automatically inserts and withdraws a monopolar needle electrode into muscle stimulating with 0.5V for 0.5s/point. Treatments were applied weekly to bilateral large eccentric muscles of C4-7 myotomes and to the L3-S1 myotomes as needed. Pretreatment medications were continued throughout the course of treatments.
