Abstract

Setting: Acute rehabilitation hospital. Patients: 3 patients undergoing acute inpatient rehabilitation following left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement. Case Descriptions: Case 1: 50-year-old man with stent thrombosis requiring revascularization with subsequent cardiogenic shock. LVAD was placed as a bridge to transplant. Case 2: 64-year-old man with congenital aortic stenosis status postvalve replacement with refractory congestive heart failure (CHF). LVAD was placed as a bridge to transplant.
