Abstract
Setting: Office-based subspecialty practice. Patient: A 44-year-old woman with postlaminectomy pain syndrome and postsurgical fibrosis after L5-S1 fusion with instrumentation. Case Description: The patient was seen for severe low back and leg pain. Patient had a fusion with instrumentation at L5-S1 in July 2003. Magnetic resonance imaging showed diffuse granulation tissue encircling the thecal sac at L5 and around L5 and S1 nerve root sleeves. Electrodiagnostic testing showed an acute on chronic L5-S1 radiculopathy.
