Abstract
Objective: To describe the demographic profile of motor vehicle accident patients involved in personal injury lawsuits referred from chiropractors to physiatrists. Design: Prospective chart review. Setting: Physiatric private practice. Participants: Charts of patients (N=38) referred to a private physiatric practice from 5 private chiropractic practices. Interventions: Not applicable. Main Outcome Measures: Data were collected at initial consultation. Variables include age, sex, employment status, seating position in the car, emergency department evaluation, time since accident, visual analog score, neck pain and back pain (occurrence and distribution), review of systems, functional limitations, physicians consulted, and medication usage.
