Abstract

Objective: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of knee consists of 2 functional bundles, the anteromedial bundle (AM) and the posterolateral bundle (PL). ACLs were reported to have 2 different types of cells, fibroblasts, and fibrochondrocytes. We aimed to investigate whether there exist differences in the cellular properties and histologic structures between AM and PL bundle of goat ACL. Design: ACL tissues obtained from goat knees were divided into 2 experiments: tissue explant culture and histologic assessment.
