Abstract

Bone marrow stromal cells (MSCs) can differentiate into bone, cartilage, adipose tissue, and other tissue, but there are few studies on MSCs from jaw bone. It is well known that cranio-maxillofacial bone derives from ectomesenchymal cells which come from cranial neural crest cells. orofacial bone development differs from that of axial and appendicular bone formation. Whether there exist bilological differences between jaw and iliac marrow stromal stem cells is an important title for the studies of jaw bone regeneration.
