Poster 013: Interferon Alpha Therapy for Management of Central Giant Cell Lesions of the Jaws

Abstract

The use of interferon alpha in combination with curettage has been previously described as a promising strategy for treatment of aggressive giant cell lesions of the jaws. We performed a retrospective analysis of our cases treated between 2004 and the present time. Our case series was unique in that a limited surgical curettage of the lesion was performed on all cases in order to preserve adjacent teeth and the inferior alveolar neurovascular bundle.
