Abstract
A 22-year-old male patient suffered a grade IV liver injurywith haemoperitoneum in a roadside accident 2 monthsearlier, for which laparotomy and biliary stenting weredone. However, after a few days, the stent was passedduring defecation. A week later, the patient developedintractable cough with copious expectoration of greensputum. Chest X-ray showed right-sided pleural effusionwith consolidation in the right lower lobe. Sputumexamination confirmed the presence of bile, which raisedthe suspicion of a biliobronchial communication.[
