Abstract

The post-Newtonian approximation of the scalar-field limit of the quadratic Poincare gauge theory of gravitation is calculated. After all gauge degrees of freedom for the tetrads are fixed with respect to the usual parametrized post-Newtonian (PPN) gauge conditions for the metric, we find that the quadratic gauge theory agrees with the Einstein theory as well as or better than the PPN limit for components of the metric.
