Abstract

Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) seed was harvested with 26 to 29% moisture and dried in the swath. Different shade conditions were used to impose various drying rates. Seed germination was not influenced by the two different times of harvest (8 am and 8 pm) nor by any of the five drying conditions. The maximum exposure temperatures for the first day of curing varied from 24 to 49 C for the drying treatments.
