Reply from the Author : I had two goals in my review of minor brain injury. First, I wanted to emphasize-to an audience of neurologists-that the natural history of concussion is complex. Neurologic disturbances (predominantly of attention and memory) last longer and are more disabling than is often recognized. Second, I attempted a clinical analysis of the patients who seem symptomatic and disabled out of proportion to the apparent injury.
