Abstract

The post-ablation tubal sterilization syndrome (PATSS), a delayed complication of endometrial ablation, is suspected to result from regenerated endometrium in the cornual area.1 Passage of menstrual blood is obstructed by the scarred lower uterine segment and ligated fallopian tubes. The proximal tube distends with blood, resulting in severe abdominal pain. The incidence of PATSS following endometrial ablation is estimated at between 6% and 10%.2,3 Consent to publish this image has been obtained from the patient.
