Abstract

A generalization of the Calibbo-Radicati sum rule for light nuclei of arbitrary spin is discussed. It is shown that under reasonable conditions the difficulties connected with the determination of the isovector photo-absorption cross sections can be avoided, thus making possible a meaningful test of the sum rule for nuclei. In the case of the pair 3He  3H the sum rule is compatible with the experimental data.
