Abstract

BARIUM chromate obtained by the method elaborated in our laboratory1–3 forms crystallites the shape of which depends on the kind of nucleus on which the crystallite has been formed. Under special conditions, for example, by fractional precipitation using the same method or by precipitation from dilutesolutions, reagent grade potassium chromate produces sediments of prismatic-shaped barium chromate crystallites having a rhombic crosssection.
