Abstract

The difference in the fault mode of the phased array antenna has different effects on the characteristic parameters of the phased array antenna. Studying the influence of fault mode on radar radiation characteristics is the premise and basis for test diagnosis. Therefore, the fault mode and influence of phased array antenna must be analyzed. This paper takes the case of phase shifter composed of common binary principle as an example to discuss the type of fault that a phased array antenna can have and its effect on antenna performance. Finally, in order to verify the degree of influence of array element fault on the performance of the antenna in the adopted array form, a half-wave array rectangular planar phased array antenna model is established. The simulation verifies that when it contains one, two, and the effect on the radiation characteristics of the antenna in the case of four faulty elements.
