Abstract

Two patients are described in whom onset of galactorrhea occurred after insertion of an intrauterine device. In both cases, lactation ceased following the removal of the device. Serum prolactin, which was increased in both patients when the IUD remained inserted, returned promptly to normal values following its removal.
