Abstract

Purpose: Injection of intra-articular corticosteroids (IACSs) is a common procedure and usually combined with local anesthetics. It is performed to treat pain related to hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, some concerns over accelerated rates of OA progression have been raised. The objective of this study is to describe and illustrate the imaging findings of possible complications that may be related to IACS injections in the hip and knee from a single institution.
