Abstract

The reduced electric quadrupole transition rates have been calculated for states of the negative parity band in the [Formula: see text]Pd nucleus using semiclassical particle-rotor model calculations. The calculated transition rates are found to decrease with increasing spin states. The dynamic moment of inertia [Formula: see text] of the states above I = [Formula: see text] are found to be large. The spin ([Formula: see text]) versus frequency ([Formula: see text]) plot obtained from the semiclassical model for the configuration [Formula: see text] ⊗[Formula: see text] is found to agree with the experimental data, which suggests a possible anti magnetic rotational character in the negative parity band.
