Abstract

Summary The aim of field experiments was to assess the possibility of using an insecticide containing spinosyn A and D and its effectiveness against the Thrips tabaci Lind. The experiments were carried out in 2010–2011 by the Research Institute of Horticulture (Skierniewice). Spinosyn A and D was used at a dose of 96 g/ha once and twice in the experimental combination. The results of conducted studies revealed a high efficacy of spinosyn insecticides in controlling T. tabaci in leek crops. Considering the above results, spinosyn A and D might be recommended and included in the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes.
