Abstract

The authors tested x-ray fluorescence on Tc solutions which simulated certain products of the reconditioning of exhausted fuel of atomic power stations by extraction. Illustrations show the scheme of the experimental setup for crystalless x-ray fluorescence analysis, and the spectrum of the fluorescence radiation of a technetium solution. According to the results, more than 80% of the Tc is removed either with the refining product of the first cycle or with the refining product of the second Pu cycle. These products are free of interfering elements so that this version of the x-ray flourescence analysis can be recommended for the operational monitoring of Tc extraction from those solutions.
