Abstract

Methods of measuring magnetic properties of single electrotechnical steel strips are presented. Conditions necessary for accurate and correct measurements are given. Possibilities and examples of single strip measurements by means of an ac compensated permeameter are described and compared with the standard Epstein method. On the basis of a great number of measurements it can be stated that single strip measurements carried out by the ac compensated permeameter are a more quickly-performed, more accurate and especially a more correct method than the Epstein method.
