Abstract

One of the main goals of the EU transport policy in the field of freight transport is to improve interoperability, unify technical standards and procedure support more ecological and energy efficient freight transport. In the area of freight transport, support for intermodal transport is essential. The synergistic effect created by the combination of several modes of transport has significant technological and environmental benefits. Such a supportive approach can lead to a more efficient and reliable transport of goods, thus improving the competitiveness of European freight transport. The aim of this contribution is the variants of proposals for intermodal transport support in the Slovak Republic.
