Abstract

Positron emission particle trackingwith positron annihilationspectroscopy was used in order to visualize particulate motion within a highshear mixer. As a result, it was possible to visualize the high-speed behavior of particulates within a fluid bed in a mixer, which is an importantbasic operation in materials processing. It was demonstrated that this method can be useful in improving process design or in improving thequality of the resultant product.
