Abstract

Background: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal disorders. Most effective therapy in GERD are proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Rates on therapeutic response are still conflicting and vary depending on reported symptoms. Aim of our study is to identify objective and subjective predictors for reliable diagnosis of GERD and response to PPI-therapy.
