Abstract

Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) has been traditionally related with negative emotion. However, in a recent analysis from the International Takotsubo Registry ‘joyful or socially desirable events’ have also been shown to trigger it: birthday party, wedding, becoming grandmother, grandchildren visiting from abroad, etc.1 The study did not find any major differences in the clinical presentation of TTS triggered by happy when compared with those trigged by negative life events.
