Abstract

Brodsky and Fray1 recently studied the prevalence of a positive angle kappa in 21 patients with albinism and 12 patients with congenital nystagmus. We have also been interested in this subject and first presented our data at the 2002 meeting of the American Association of Certified Orthoptists. Our recent report2 of 178 patients with albinism is in agreement with the findings reported by Brodsky and Fray. In our study, 99.6% of patients had a positive angle kappa, and 88% of the 123 patients with a graded angle kappa had at least 2-mm nasal displacement of the light reflex.
