Abstract
AbstractThe development of natural gas power generation and the enhancement of the flexibility of power system are of great significance to promote the large-scale development of renewable energy, improve the quality of atmospheric environment in China and actively respond to climate change and promote the development of natural gas industry, especially in the process of achieving the “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” goal. At present, China is facing the favorable situation of accelerating the development of gas power generation, including sufficient global resources and flexible trade methods, the expected substantial reduction of the procurement cost of imported natural gas, the continuous enhancement of the natural gas supply guarantee capacity, and the dawn of the localization of gas turbines. Based on the multi-dimensional comprehensive advantages of gas power generation, there is still much room for development of power generation in China when the policies are put in place. In order to promote the high-quality development of China’s gas power generation industry, the following suggestions are put forward: ① defining the positioning of “actively developing” gas power generation; ② establishing a market operation mechanism with flexible respond, and clean and low-carbon power value; ③ establishing upstream and downstream cooperation mechanism of gas power generation industry; ④ promoting the direct supply of large gas-fired power plants; ⑤ improving the localization level of gas turbine; ⑥ reducing the price of gas in multiple ways; ⑦ improving peak shaving and emergency response capabilities of natural gas.KeywordsNatural gas power generationEnergy transformationFlexible powerAir pollution controlCarbon emission reductionPolicy supportMechanism designGas turbineDevelopment suggestion
