Abstract

To solve the problem of low resolution of Hall sensor position in brushless DC Motor (BLDCM), a position reconstruction method is proposed combining Hall-rotating-vector harmonic-decoupling and variable bandwidth filter. The method first converts the Hall signals into a Hall-rotating-vector by Clarke transformation, and then uses the harmonic-decoupling method to eliminate the main high order harmonics contained in the Hall-rotating-vector. Considering that harmonic-decoupling cannot completely filter out high order harmonics in the rotation vector, a variable bandwidth filter is designed to further improve the filtering effect and reduce the error of the reconstructed position. The simulation results show that the proposed method is correct and effective.
