Abstract

The article analyzes the development of Russian-American cooperation in the post-bipolar period. For Russia, it had a dual character. On the one hand, the Russian education sector was integrated into the international educational system, received access to Western achievements and funding, and on the other hand, there was a “brain drain and brainwashing”, the imposition of Western standards in the education and upbringing of Russians, the use of education as a tool for “soft strength”. It is concluded that the cooperation between the Russian Federation and the United States in the field of education was the least politicized part of bilateral relations.
