Abstract
Man machine interfaces are now widely used in the Automated Production System (APS). The 3-axis model is a convenient tool for representing the APS and the Man-Machine Interface System (MMIS) can be introduced in this model as a standard function. The different types of communication architectures have serious consequences on the respect of the space-time constraints. A MMIS has been experimented and it has shown the influence of the communication architecture on the provided quality of service, without, however, modifying the ergonomical aspects.
