Abstract

It is necessary to estimate the information of the accurate position and speed for the sensorless control of permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM) drive system. This paper presents a novel digital sensorless control algorithm for PMSLM drives based on extended Kalman filter (EKF). The model of the PMSLM control system based on EKF in Simulink simulation environment is developed. The PI controller is used in current, speed and position loop which the feedback signal of position and speed is estimated by EKF algorithm. The simulation result shows that the EKF algorithm is effective to estimate the position and speed in a wide position range. The dynamic responsibility of the PMSLM without position sensor based on EKF is fast.
