Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, we investigate the Position Error Bound (PEB) of the three-dimensional (3D) Angle-of-arrival (AOA) based localization in the cooperative location-aware network. We first develop a general signal model for the received waveforms between nodes. Then, we derive the PEB of the AOA based spatial cooperative localization in 3D space, in conjunction with Equivalent Fisher Information Matrix (EFIM). Next, we extend our analysis to investigate the PEB for the AOA based temporal cooperative localization, considering that a node can cooperate with itself over time. Finally, we do some simulations to support our analytical conclusion. The obtained PEB can be used to evaluate the performance of the cooperative localization.
