Abstract
Health records, especially electronic health records (EHR) are frequently used in health research. EHR are managed in various hospital information systems and thus can be exported for research purposes. However, there are no standard procedures to make EHR accessible for research purposes in Austria. Therefore, the aim was to determine the process of getting access to EHR based on the example of a multidisciplinary research project.
