Abstract

Patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and suicidal ideation or behaviour (MDSI) constitute a psychiatric emergency requiring urgent medical attention. Remission of MDD is one of the key treatment goals in these patients. This study aims to quantify the healthcare resource use (HRU) and costs of treating patients with MDSI in Europe, making the distinction between 2 different disease health states: remission and major depressive episode (MDE).
