Abstract
Posterior capsular opacification (PCO) is the most common complication post-cataract surgery, and its development is associated with the IOL material and design, and other factors. Clinically significant PCO is treated by Nd:YAG laser capsulotomy. The Clareon hydrophobic acrylic IOL is a new single-piece IOL, first launched in Europe in 2017. The purpose of this literature review was to collate and report Nd:YAG capsulotomy incidence post-cataract surgery in patients implanted with the Clareon IOL.
