Abstract

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a common cause of gastrointestinal tract disease in solid organ transplant recipients. There is recent evidence of simultaneous CMV/tuberculosis infection causing pulmonary disease after solid organ transplant, however gastrointestinal disease caused by co infection of the two pathogens is a rare phenomenon. We describe one such case of enterocolitis caused by co -infection of cytomegalovirus infection and tuberculosis in a renal transplant recipient.
