Abstract

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common form of primary glomerulonephritis around the world. Reports have also indicated that there is an increasing number of families worldwide in which two or more related family members are affected by IgAN; this form of IgAN is known as familial IgAN (FIgAN). Fc alpha/mu receptor (Fcα/μR, CD351) is a receptor with dual specificity for IgA and IgM that may correlate with IgAN.
