Abstract

Peritoneal dialysis catheter is the lifeline of peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. One of the frequent encountered complications is migration of PD catheter which often lead to ultrafiltration failure and fluid overload. Failure to improve with laxative will invariably necessitates PD catheter removal and reinsertion via a new puncturing site with the inconvenience of requiring interim hemodialysis. We describe our experience whereby the PD catheters were removed and reinserted via the same insertion point via a newly innovated and modified Seldinger technique which we named SERDANG-UPM METHOD
