Abstract

Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) had a major impact on the number of transplantation procedures worldwide. The severity of COVID-19 infection in Kidney transplant (KT) recipients ranged from mild disease to severe pneumonia and multi-organ failure. The mortality rate is estimated around 30% and risk factors such as old age, comorbid conditions and critical care admission are associated with worse prognosis. There is no optimal therapy for severe COVID-19 infection in such high risk patients and current data reported variable outcomes with different therapeutic options experimented.
