Abstract

Catheter loss due to catheter related infections including exit site infection and/or tunnel tract infection is an important cause of peritoneal dialysis (PD) dropout and prevent the increase in the uptake of PD programme. According to Malaysian Dialysis & Transplant Registry (MDTR) 2016, catheter related infection is the fourth commonest cause of PD dropout.
