Abstract

Percutaneous renal biopsy (PRB) is an invasive procedure in nephrology that is extremely important in making diagnosis, prognostication and evaluation of treatment outcome in children with renal diseases. Currently the use of real time ultrasound guided PRB has greatly increased the tissue yield and also reduced the complications associated with the procedure. The prevalence of renal diseases as well as mortality associated with renal diseases is increasing worldwide and especially in developing countries like Nigeria.
