Abstract

As a common complication of systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis is evidenced by deposition of anti-dsDNA antibody complexes and sensitized T lymphocytes that cause renal injury. Accumulated evidence has supported a critical role of mitochondrial dysfunction in lupus development, and defective mitophagy has recently been identified in this disease. The current study aimed to determine the effects of pharmacological induction of mitophagy on adaptive immunity in mice with lupus nephritis(LN).
