Abstract

Renal sympathetic overactivity has been associated with the progression of various chronic kidney diseases. It not only contributes to the development of hypertension, but also impairs the kidney via pressure-independent mechanisms. IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is a leading cause of chronic kidney disease in China. However, whether and how renal sympathetic nerves play a role in IgA nephropathy remain obscure.
